FAQs

What is Microblading?

Microblading, also known as eyebrow embroidery is a tattooing technique in which a small handheld tool made up of several tiny needles is used to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin.

Results after the perfection session can last up to 2 years before needing a color refresh. Over a time, microbladed brows will fade giving you the option to retouch or leave them as they are hence why they are semi-permanent.

Dry, Combo, 'Normal' skin type are best candidates for microblading.

What is Shading?

Shading is done with a machine rather than manually like microblading. This technique is meant to give density to brows who lack it. This result will leave your brows with a powdery finish.

Best for oily skin, brows with huge gaps in them.

Is it painful?

Topical numbing cream is applied before and during the treatment. Clients usually feel little to no discomfort. Avoid making your appointment near your menstrual as you are more sensitive during that time.

Can everyone be microbladed?

You are not a candidate for semi permanent make-up if you are/ or have:
1. Pregnant or nursing
2. Undergoing chemotherapy
3. Diabetes- Type I & II
4. Psoriasis

5. Prone to keloid

You must wait at least 1 year after using Accutane to be eligible for permanent makeup.

How many microblading sessions do I need?

Microblading is a multi-step appointment process. Your new brows will NOT be complete after just one service. At least two appointments are needed initially. Each of these appointments by 5-8 weeks apart.

During your perfection session, we will assess the pigment retention and make any adjustments necessary.

Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your microblading application does not heal perfectly the first time, do not worry! We can always go bolder and add more density at your next appointment.

How long does it last?

After your initial session, a perfection session is needed 5-8 weeks after initial date.

In the long run, It is known to last 18+ months depending on skin type and lifestyle before needing a color boost. Certain skin types (oily and/or large pores) may need touch ups more often.  Annual touch-ups are recommended for everyone to maintain freshness and color.

Products Used

There is a fear of the color used for microblading will turn ashy, blue or red. But not to worry, I use Tina Davies X Permablend pigments. High quality pigments that are pre-modified to heal true to color.

We carry colors for all skin tones and hair color.

When is a good time to book?

If you are looking to get your brows done for a big future event, it is recommended to book about 3 months in advance to said event.

What method do you use to clean and shape eyebrows?

Plucking! Plucking gives me the fortuity to give a more defined shape. I suggest booking every 2-3 weeks to maintain shape.

What is a Brow Lamination?

Brow Lamination is a technique that redirects the brow hairs to create a different texture. A conditioning perm solution is applied to the brows to straighten out hairs and give fluff to the brows shape. Lasts up to 8 weeks!

Check our blog post on this here.

Before you Come in

-Avoid plucking, waxing and threading your brows for a couple of weeks leading up to your appointment. The more hair I have to work with, the better. Any hair that falls outside of your desire shape will be removed at the appointment.
-Do not drink stimulating beverages such as caffeine(right before appt.), alcohol or energy drinks the night before or day of your treatment.
-No sun tanning for three days prior.
-I recommend waiting at least two months before botox patients receive microblading treatments to ensure proper skin expressions.
-Avoid skin rejuvenation treatments for at least 4 weeks before your appt.
-You can wear makeup to your appt. if you wish. I will remove all makeup on and around your brows at your arrival.
