During your appointment

We'll start with a consultation to look at the area, talk through your goals, and make sure skin camouflage is right for you. Then we'll match your color, tattoo the area, and go over aftercare so you know exactly how to heal. Appointments can take up to two hours.

FAQs

  • No, and that's one of the best parts. Stretch marks usually look brighter in the sun. Once they're camouflaged, they don't get brighter anymore. Your untouched skin will still darken as you tan, but the contrast between the two is much softer. When your tan fades, everything blends back together.

  • Most people need at least two sessions, 8-12 weeks apart. Stretch marks and scars don't take pigment as easily as regular skin, and your body sheds about 40-50% of the pigment after each session. Because we're working with flesh-toned ink on damaged skin, that layering is how we get a blended finish. Every booking includes two sessions, no matter the area.

  • You're likely a good fit if you want to improve the look of skin that's missing pigment. Here's what we look for:

    • Stretch marks should be at least 2 years old. Light, flat ones give the best results.

    • Scars should be at least 1 year old.

    • Darker, denser, firmer skin tends to see the most dramatic results.

  • It's a permanent tattoo. Once fully healed, your stretch marks and scars should blend into your skin much more than before.

  • We don't work on the armpits, inner thighs, or inner arms because of the risk of infection and slower healing. Acne scars aren't a good fit for this treatment either, so we'd recommend seeing an esthetician for those.

Color Matching

Color matching is the most important part of the process. We blend pigments in the studio to match your natural skin tone as closely as possible, then test the color on your skin before we begin.
